7:18 AM in SEO by admin

The True Measure of Success in Online BusinessBusinesses differ in more ways than one – differences in strategies, products or services and even on the target market. Since your business is in a way different form any other business venture in the Internet, it is safe to say that you should not measure your success in the same manner as other businesses do.

Everyone takes time to monitor closely the traffic of their sites and there is a great chance that you are one of them. But how exactly does site traffic measure the success of your online business? For instance, you are selling up-scale real estate properties but the majority of your visitors prefers cheaper properties or in worst case cannot afford your product. Yes, you have amazing traffic results, but a problem rises in the quality of your traffic. Quantity alone is not an indicator that you are successful in your business venture or not, especially when the majority of your visitors are not your target market.

What is the Real Measure of Success Online?

In your quest to search for the most effective way of measuring online success, you should opt to look for something that will accurately identify your business growth and progress. Therefore, even before you go on measuring your success you should have something to measure. Goal setting comes into the scene. What is it you want to achieve in your business? Is it happening or not?

What are the specific actions from your clients that you need to realize and make you say that you are successful in your business? Is it the increase in time spent by your clients in the product detail pages of your website? Is it the increase in the purchase of products from your clients? Is it the increase number of traffic from time to time? Is it more conversions from PPC traffic? What are the specific indicators that tell you that you are on your way to your much-desired success? After you have identified the latter, you are already a step closer in finding the specific metric that will measure true success in your business.

If you want your clients to spend more time on the product detail pages of your websites so that they will learn how your services or products can potentially be beneficial to them, the perfect metric for you is the Product Detail Page Entrances and Pageviews per Visit or Time on Site. On the other hand, if you want an increase on your conversions from PPC traffic you may choose the conversion rate and clicks as your main metric. In a nutshell, your business goals must be at all times in line with the measures you take to attain success.

Points considered here is the bid price, keyword selection, landing pages, as well as the advertisement copy. Instant placement on specified result pages of the search engine is guaranteed upon complete payment.

  • Paid Submission –
  • This type of scheme is applicable to all directories. The site would likely be included in the directory for only about 7 to 14 days but this is not guaranteed and would still depend on the directory.

  • Search Engine Optimization –
  • This is referred to as the cornerstone of SEM; but many internet marketers fail to recognize its relevance in their businesses. Below are the 3 Search Marketing Avenues:

  • Social Networking –
  • This pertains to the social platform designed to build social connections.

  • These are the sites or results which show up first on search engines because the advertiser paid up for it.

  • Organic Search –
  • This is the traditional mode of search used by most people wherein Google shows the results most relevant to the placed query.
The combination of these 3 options will surely generate the best results for any business. SEO has been stoked by PPC in a lot of ways. Far more competitive measures are being practiced in SEO to deal with paid advertising schemes. This focuses heavily on relevant and fresh content which makes up the raw deal in page ranking.

Fake Mortgage Ads Put Google under Scrutiny

6:47 AM in SEO by admin

fake mortgage adsThe U.S government has investigated an unknown number of companies due to mortgage scams that claimed they could lower mortgage payments using government-backed programs . 85 of the investigated companies (and counting) connected to the scam have been shut down. Since many of these companies advertised on Google using Adwords pay-per-clik (PPC) program, Google’s ties to this deception is questioned.

Google As Launching Platform
Now, is google liable for allowing such fake mortgage programs, whilst failed to recognize the said ads as scams? According to John Simpson of Consumer Watchdog, although Google’s responsibility is vague, Google must never have published the ads on the first place. Its executives seem to turn a blind eye to these hoaxers because of the significant amount of revenue that advertising generates.

Taking Action
Evidently, these mortgage scams have brought Google under scrutiny. Google didn’t remain indifferent to the issue and has immediately taken the government’s move as a prompt to alter their policies. Moreover, Google knew that taking action is not just about changing policies. Its 500 advertisers and agencies who were associated with the 85 companies were all shut down.

However, further investigation implies that Google is not the sole platform affected by these fraudsters as the said fake mortgage programs have also been found in Microsoft adCenter. Microsoft has taken serious action in banning the advertisers related to the scam from Yahoo and Bing search results. Similar to what Google did earlier on, Microsoft shut down the accounts of over 400 advertisers that were connected to mortgage scam companies. SIGTARP (the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program) has identified at least 125 companies associated with the scam.

Christy Romero, Deputy Special Inspector General for SIGTARP commented that many homeowners who are victimized by these types of scam were initially intrigued by online search ads and web banner ads that claim to lower mortgage payments for a little fee.

It’s true that Google and Microsoft’s initiative to shut down these ads will significantly lessen the scope of such scams, however SIGTARP wishes to educate homowners. Proper education will protect them from scammers preying on unsuspecting internet users.

SIGTARP advises everyone to be vigilant. Inquire about a HAMP mortgage modification directly from a mortgage servicer/ lender or through HUD-approved housing counselors. The HAMP program is approved by the U.S government and best of all, it is free of charge.

The investigation, however, remains ongoing.

Google Correlate: An Advantage for SEO

10:14 AM in SEO by admin

With the increasing number of people engaging in online services, searching information may be quite difficult. Fortunately, Google discovered Google Correlate- a device that enables users to find queries within a similar pattern aiming the target data series.

Reversed Google Trend

Google CorrelateManufacturers said that Google Correlate is the Google Trend reversed. Google Trend is a tool that illustrates how often a certain term or phrase has been searched relative to the entire search-volume across the world. This shows how popular a search could be. In relation to this, Google Correlate functions conversely like Google Trend. It allows users to upload data series and in return get a list of search items that corresponds with the trend.

As a PPC Tool

A PPC Tool assists you in finding the right keywords. One of the most common and biggest problems committed by companies is starting a promotion thinking they already know their target keywords. Additionally, your PPC Tool also helps in cleaning up by simply deleting repeated keywords.

People may be attracted to visit your website because of your exquisite words but, if your site is not the one they are looking for, then it will only result to more visits and not sales. Words that may seem to work in theory but useless in actual practice should be eliminated using your PPC Tool.

Another thing that a PPC Tool can do is grouping. This enables to avoid using the same keywords repeatedly. Instead, it allows you to match your keywords that will work best together with the other keywords. However, you do not want your articles to use the same keywords every time. What you can do therefore is to combine your primary keyword with your other secondary keywords.

After your PPC Tool have already cleaned up your keywords, then you’re good to start writing ads regarding them. After this, your PPC Tool can automatically distribute your ads in all major sites without you signing up on them one by one. Besides guaranteeing you the exposure you need in these major sites, it saves you a lot of time.

All you need to do is have the right PPC Tool that can find, clean, and group your keywords, thensubmit your articles to the proper online sites. It may stand to be confusing at first but, it will likely make sense once you get it working.

Google Correlate therefore may be a PPC Tool in such a way that they both have the work to look for search patterns or keywords corresponding to real world trends.

Collaborate Efforts for Pay-per-click Advertising

6:34 AM in SEO, SEO Tools, Search Engines, Search Results by admin

pay-per-clickUnlike any other form of advertising, pay-per-click (PPC) requires a collaborative effort between different departments. Three groups are generally involved in an effective making of a PPC campaign. Content writers who will research for relevant keywords and, which will go to be included in the ads. The ad managers who will oversee the performance and relatives going into the bidding processes, and finally the developers who will help implement technical details like the tracking codes.

Content Management

To begin with, it would be ideal to separate content with search. The contextual listings, campaigns need to be viewed differently from search since the results and customers also differ in this online marketing scenario.

Eliminating unwanted and waste traffic is a necessity and essential step to lowering costs and improving conversions. Most major pay-per-click providers will let advertisers create lists of negative keywords, which would eventually reduce traffic. However, this amounts to the wasteful traffic which would have eaten into your purse without adding any conversions.

It is easy to get traffic, what with you standing on the right side of the first SERP. Persuading the visitor, however, to make a purchase is another story. It would be smarter if in some way the pay-per-click advertiser is able to weed out all unwanted traffic and pay only for those conversions he is able to make. It is very important to keep an eye on the costs per conversion. This will mean cost-per-conversion is more relevant for the advertiser than paying per click.

Ad-campaign Managers

One way to control spending, here is by adjusting bid amounts, and not daily budget spending. Very often the funds are simply not available and demanding; but, if the campaign is correctly optimized, the returns should justify any amounts of spending. Advertisers should carefully lower the bidding costs in order to reach the maximum number of target customers. Daily budget control based spending leaves a lot of prospective customers untapped.

Usually, the number one spot leads to a very poor return on investment. Mostly, traffic coming from the top positions are not buyers, but simply are researchers. Serious buyers will generally go to the third, fourth, or fifth positions. However, when the consumers are ready to buy, they will often come back.

Bid exact, use exact matching, eliminate researchers and go straight to buyers. The traffic will decrease, but conversion and online revenue should definitely increase. Double and triple the keywords by creating broad, exact and phrase matches for every keyword. Review the analytics, then gradually eliminate broad and phrase matches that generally result in lower conversion rates.

Analytics & Developers

google-ppcA reliable analytics program is essential in managing a successful PPC campaign. It is the backbone of this marketing campaign, which will be able to determine many important factors. Analytics will enable you get costs per conversion rates, unwanted visitor data, negative keyword lists, figures relating to return on investments, and such other dependable analytical data.

Your PPC campaign has got all the ingredients to prove to be a breakthrough in your online marketing and advertising campaigns, provided you play a thorough and professional game. Careful analytics will highly compensate, and being innovative will help you effectively encounter any challenge.
