Similar to WordPress.com, WordPress.org finally drops support for IE 6. It was a relief for UI teams since numerous features and additions do not suit the aging browser. Take note however that loading the WordPress dashboard in IE 6 is still possible, however the appearance is not so good or it’s possible that it won’t be usable. It’s recommended to deviate from using IE 6 and go for modern browsers such as Firefox, IE 9, Google Chrome, Opera or Safari.

This distraction free writing mode is a superb feature if you hate getting distracted by menus, side bars and options. Dashboard Overhauled!
Since WordPress 2.7 was launched in 2008, this is by far the first major user interface overhaul. You can now view a cleaner and modernized WordPress interface here.
