The Holidays is a good time to procrastinate and just relax. It has been crunch time the whole year round where there is no time to be lazy and lag on work. It is indeed high time to sing a different tune and be laid back and take things slow this time around. SEO is nitty gritty stuff and very output-oriented. It is a grilling and demanding job which keeps you awake even in unholy hours just to keep ahead of the tasks and to be on top of deadlines.
The holidays may be a time for merriment and catching up with family time; but this is also a time to get organized and prepped up for the next year.
Here is a handy list of things to do to make the holidays productive:

  • Delete and Archive
  • I know it’s hard to delete items because you’ll never know if you will need them in the future or not. But, too much information can make one dumb; so let’s not argue on that- Just delete! SEO professionals receive tons of email day-in and day-out so it helps to be organized in managing your emails. Delete junk mails or those unrelated to work and archive your past emails into one folder. This will make it easy to browse and search when necessary. This will allow you to have a clean slate for the next projects this coming year.

  • Organize Your Client Dealings
  • This is a great time to organize all available data per client. This includes client portfolio as well as your database per client and payout schedules. You can also talk with clients virtually or send them gratitude emails for the work year and that you are looking forward to more years with them. Ask them for feedback as well with regards to your overall performance and ask for ideas on areas for improvement and the things that they would suggest in making the workflow more effective for the coming years.

  • Craft Your Priority List
  • Set up your priority list for the coming year. This is similar to New Year’s resolutions; the only difference is that this is geared towards work. Keep in line with your priorities for the next year by taking mental notes of your accomplishments as well as your blunders for the past years. Next is to position you into looking at more viable and helpful options on becoming better the next year. Set the benchmark on yourself and make a physical and virtual list. Post your list on your bedroom wall and even in your fridge. Make a virtual list and incorporate it in your wallpaper together with a family picture or something inspiring. The list will be a constant reminder of what you want to accomplish the next year. Try to make it as specific as possible so that you will have a clear maneuver on things. There you go! Make a pitch-perfect head-start for the year by thinking ahead. This allows you to be up and about for anything. Organize and layer your priorities and be driven and positive no matter the possible constraints. More so, be grateful for the year that was and celebrate the years ahead with more fervor and success. Next year will be a slam!
